Examples of activities and services: Shopping areas, schools and universities, libraries, parks, lakes, rivers, places of worship, healthcare services, public transport, local nonprofit organizations, etc.

Examples of economic or environmental interests: Tourism industry, agricultural workers, mining town, manufacturing center, polluted natural resource, unemployment problem, etc.

Your response: We have a strong farming/tree farming/fishing/watermen tradition down the coasts and our local watershed is very important to us. We struggle with bringing businesses into the area because most of our counties run on well water. Our counties therefore have some of the highest out-commute percentages of anywhere else. People regularly must drive more than an hour to find suitable employment. We have a local transport service provided by Bay Aging, but no true public transportation.

Your response: The Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck are largely rural communities with the inhabitants spread out over a large area. This means also that services must cover a wide area with only the resources allotted by the number of people, without consideration for the distance they must travel. All of our service providers are required to do more with less than other communities.
