My community is made up of people who attend the University of Utah, who visit the Corinne & Jack Sweet Branch public library, who work at/receive health care from the LDS Intermountain Healthcare Hospital, who worship at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, who attend Ensign Elementary School, who attend The Avenues Preschool, who ride the UTA #6 bus, the #3 bus, and the #11 bus. My community is also made up of people who frequent Lindsey Gardens Park, 11th Avenue Park & shop at Smiths on 6th Avenue
My community is made up of people of a diverse population in terms of age, and is located in the historic Avenues neighborhood.
My community is made up of many small businesses, restaurants, and schools like the Avenues Proper, Hatch Family Chocolates, Cafe on 1st, the Straw Market, Publik Coffee Roasters, Wildwood, Cucinas, Saffron Valley, West Farmers Market, Cafe Shambala, the Kura Door, Fire Station 4, Wasatch Elementary School, the Madeleine Choir School, the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Jack Mormon Coffee Roasting, and the Ronald McDonald House. Our community struggles with air quality.
The Avenues is most connected to the greater Salt Lake City area. The Greater Avenues area should be kept in a single district. We are also connected to other nearby communities like Federal Heights, and downtown Salt Lake. Our current congressional representation is not representative of our community's values.
