Inwood (Dyckman) is a very diverse; we have community members from various backgrounds. We come together for communal gatherings and events held at the Park, plaza, public schools, and the public library. Conveniently, our community enjoys access to public transportation through the MTA, with stations located at Dyckman Street and 207th Street on the A and 1 train lines. Furthermore, numerous MTA bus routes, including the M100 and BX7, make transportation within our community easily accessible.
The area where my community is situated overflows with small businesses, including bodegas, supermarkets, and restaurants.
Safety concerns are prevalent in our community, and our top priority is to enhance safety, especially given the presence of numerous schools and our commitment to safeguarding our children and families. To achieve this, we seek increased engagement from politicians to empower the Dominican community in Inwood, enabling them to voice our concerns effectively. Furthermore, we are in need of additional programs within the neighborhood that can serve as educational resources for the community.
