Community Information

Cambridge is home to three college campuses: Harvard, MIT, and Lesley, and is surrounded by other universities in the Greater Boston Area. Professors, grad students, researchers, and students are all part of the community. There are also the K-12 Cambridge Public Schools and few hospitals and research centers. I will try to use biotech work force as a community.

Harvard and MIT have caused gentrification in Cambridge and across the river - increase in housing prices, access to food, clothes, etc. The Universities continue to expand into Allston-Brighton.

Biotech companies and research centers are common in the area. Tourism to Harvard also has an impact on the area. After the pandemic, there is also an increasing homeless population in the area.

Homelessness and increasing rent prices are very important issues, should be prioritized. There is also a lot of overlap with nearby areas.
