My community includes many newly constructed subdivisions, but I'd like to see more green space added, such as neighborhood parks with amenities for all ages, including walking/biking trails. I would also like to have a separate paved walking/biking trail developed that connects Chesterfield Township with neighboring cities.More extensive public transportation should also be available for those who need it, to connect people to work, school and other activities.
My community has many railroad crossings and trains traverse at all hours with very loud horns. This is very disruptive to neighboring homes, especially at night. This can reduce property values over time. A sound pollution study would be helpful to determine the noise levels that the trains create. A new noise-level maximum could then be created that reduces the noise levels to limit sound pollution without sacrificing safety.
My community lacks sidewalks on many main roads and some roads are unpaved, despite frequent traffic. I'd like to see paved roads and sidewalks added to at least one side of the main roadways to improve safety for drivers, walkers and bikers. Many city roads also need street lights to make walking and driving safer at night. Many of the mile roads and north/south roads have only one-lane in each direction, but traffic increases as the number of residents increases with new construction. These roads need two-lanes in each direction with center turn lanes to ease congestion.
