  - Where do people in your community gather or socialize?
  - How and where does your community access services (healthcare, transportation, educational services, etc.)?

Examples of activities and services: Shopping areas, schools and universities, libraries, parks, lakes, rivers, places of worship, healthcare services, public transport, local nonprofit organizations, etc.

Your response: Local coffee shops, Desert Foothills Library, western bars, Carefree sundial space, Holland Center, YMCA. Many shops and restaurants/bars catering to a large tourist population. Paradise Valley Community College at Holland Center, Cave Creek Unified School District, Montessori school and Charter schools and adult education programs at the Desert Foothill Library.Foothills Caring Core in Carefree serves Carefree and Cave Creek. They serve the elderly and disabled provide activities, meals and health services. Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center - Food boxes, financial assistance, assistance filing for food stamps. No Public transportation.

Your response: Interests in open space and the desert. (Cave Creek is horse oriented). Outdoor activities, ie hiking, equestrian and biking. Desert Foothills Land Trust and Preserve (Has preserves of 375 acres of desert) Sonoran Arts League Center for the Arts - includes annual Hidden in the Hills artist tour. AZ Music Fest - extensive musical programs for adults and children. Multiple art festivals in Carefree and Cave Creek. Cave Creek Annual Parade and Rodeo. Mining and Cattle Ranching. Examples of economic or environmental interests: Tourism industry, agricultural workers, mining town, manufacturing center, polluted natural resource, unemployment problem, etc.

Your response: Many residents own and operate small businesses/shops in our communities. Several residents in Cave Creek work outside the Cave Creek area. Carefree has a large retired population and seasonal residents. Water is of great concern environmentally and politically. There are many private wells in the area some of which have run dry and most others have varying levels of arsenic. Water issues exist between Carefree and Cave Creek re: allocation of CAP water and ownership of the water company. See above for tourism.

Examples of needs or concerns: Keep community in the same district or separate into multiple districts, shared policy concerns, need for a social service, relationship to other nearby communities, issues with current district lines

Your response: In Cave Creek and Carefree Republicans outnumber Democrats 3 to 1. Democrats are not in a competitive arena whereby we may potentially elect whom we choose. Alignment of CC and CF with other communities that brings more balance to the distribution of Democratic and Republican voters.
