Community Information

Latinx

West NY, Union City, and Weehawken are closely united, with residents travelling between the towns and Bergenline Ave. uniting Union City with North Hudson. Northern Hudson County has its own fire department, public service organizations, and mayors council that provides services to residents.

Union City has a significant Hispanic population.

North Hudson County towns (West New York, Union City, and Weehawken) are closely connected and should be kept together. Union City should not be separated from these towns but should be in the same district as these towns. The Turnpike map splits Jersey City into 3 districts in a nonsensical way. Jersey City should be split the same way it was split from the 1980s to the 2000s, with its northern portion in LD32. LD33 should then cover West NY, Guttenberg, Union City, Weehawken, and Hoboken. Secaucus, North Bergen, Guttenberg, West NY, Union City, and Weehawken should be one compact North Hudson district.
