My community takes a lot of pride in its public schools. A lot of the socialization in the neighborhood surrounds the actions and budget of the schools, and it ties a lot of the community together through their children and the school's sporting events
My community is mainly comprised Irish and Italian Catholic religious groups. There is also a large Latin X population, with many Spanish speakers.
A large portion of the community is upper-middle class, and many people commute into NYC for work. My community is not very industrial; it is mostly suburban with people commuting to work.
A concern in my community is socioeconomic inequality. With a large population density and a high number of school districts, there is still a pressing issue of socioeconomic inequality within these school districts. Residents in school districts range in their socioeconomic status, from very wealthy to living below the poverty line.
