Community Information

transportation LGBT+ housing environment affordable

My community extends from the city of San leandro to the top of Oakland and includes the middle section of the East Bay Bart Stations.

My community is the people of color and families who have lived here for decades and have seen the large increases in housing prices. It is a mixture of Black, Asian and Latino people where the population is majority minority and very metropolitan.

We are located in the bay area so we have a great variety of economic interests such as from the port, but also tourism (from the coliseum) and other service industry jobs. Residents that live along the 880 freeway have long complained of the environmental impacts of that highway.

My community has roughly the same average housing prices through the flats and rising greatly in the hills. My community has a great need for more affordable housing so that folks can afford to live here.
