I live in an area where it's critical small businesses, especially businesses with Latinx owners continue to be able to afford rent and thrive. We are actively in a space where gentrification is butting up against historically established communities. We see a lot of unemployment from busts in the oil and gas industry, and it's critical to draw and keep young folks that we explore new economic opportunities.
We are very much a part of the urban core, and can best be represented by district maps that don't try to split us up to encompass larger rural populations.
