My community is made up of mostly seniors, who either use their own transportation or rely on transportation provided by family or public services. Many people enjoy going on walks and utilizing green spaces for leisure, specifically Newburgh Lake area, Hines Park and public school areas.
Most people in my community are white, english speaking Catholic or of the Christian faith. Mostly those whom are middle age, seniors tend to attend church services more frequently and consistently.
My community is one large mixed-use area. South of 96 is extremely industrial and commercial with neighborhoods tightly squeezed among blocks of industrial or commercial properties. The industrial facilities have caused environmental damage and it has impacted the residents, specifically in the area of Stark & Farmington Rd. Most residents enjoy the greenery and oppose commercial and multi-family residential developers impeding on those areas. There’s a lot of empty commercial properties.
Senior services are huge. Disabled and underserved populations are becoming more vocal. Overall, most are worried about development overtaking their interests
