There is a variety of grocery stores in my area (sprouts, dollar store, La Bonita). I noticed that there is accessible public transport nearby. I have access to many healthcare services (hospitals, urgent care) within my neighborhood. I haven't noticed any charter schools, but I have noticed k-12 public schools nearby. CSN is within my community, but a bit of a drive. There is also UNLV's medical program nearby. I live near a small (compared to other libraries) library, and further away is another library as well. The parks within the neighborhood are smaller, and it's a 15 minute drive to the nearest large park. There are some places of worship within my neighborhood, that I've noticed.
I live within Korea Town. There are Buddhist Temples and Mosques so far from what I've noticed. My neighbors, on average, are Latinos, (but there are some from a variety of backgrounds), between the ages of 30-40, and Spanish and/or English speakers. My neighborhood is made up mostly of families and retired folks. My neighborhood was built in the 1970's. I have noticed African (possibly Ethiopian) worship happening in the local park pretty often. It is a very diverse community with different cultural bonds.
The majority of my neighbors are employed within the Tourism industry. My neighborhood is pretty clean. Sometimes I notice that sprinklers will over water, but nothing too concerning when it comes to the environment. I and a few of my neighbors did move from our apartments to townhouses.
Overall my community is pretty well-supported. I would like more to be done to provide more resources and support to the homeless within my community.
