Community Information

- The community is considered an active lifestyle community. People take advantage of the multiple parks, pools, recreation centers, and over 50 miles of walking paths. These are the areas that many people gather or socialize. Two of the parks host weekly food trucks and farmers market. - Services include shopping centers near Powers Blvd, Penrose St Francis Hospital (nearest hospital), various churches, and schools (public, charter, and private).

- This community is fairly new and does not have much of a culture however, it is a part of the Pikes Peaks region, known for its beauty, outdoor activities, parks, Olympic museums, colleges, and military influence. - Banning Lewis Ranch is mostly comprised of middle aged, Caucasian, middle to upper middle class, Christian families.

- My community is heavily influenced by the military, both Army and Air Force (mainly Fort Carson, Peterson and Schriever Air Force Base). Many are either service members, civilian government employees, or work for a defense contracting company. - There are no real environmental concerns, but people have expressed there opinion on noise and light pollution. Banning Lewis Ranch was designed with minimal street lights to bring a more natural essence to the community.

- This community should be kept together based on my Cultural description. - The community collectively wants better road infrastructure to support the growth in the area, paid for by housing developers or government (local/state). - The community prides itself on the active lifestyle and tends to feel secluded from the rest of the area. - Taxes are above average compared to other communities in the city, where the people feel like they are paying more than their share of taxes.
