Community Information

renewable resources healthcare voting rights education environment

My community is adjacent to downtown Salt Lake, but with a suburban feel. For the most part, healthcare, schools, universities, shopping, recreation and church all occur between N Temple and 3300 south, and 300 west and the university.

My community is primarily white, well educated, English speaking. It is friendly. There is a good mix of Mormon and non-Mormon. There are a lot of University employees—staff, faculty, physicians, lots of business people in mining, utilities, law, lots of schoolteachers. The neighborhood skews older, but younger families are moving in.

We are extremely concerned about air quality because we see the inversions from Capitol Hill. There is a mix of Republicans and Democrats. People definitely care about education at all levels. Many are very active and care about hiking, biking, camping, and snow sports.
