My beautiful suburban community is made of a diverse group of people, many of whom are homeowners, while others are renters. There are many retirees right along with working individuals with growing families who call this place home. What makes this area so desirable is that all amenities are either in waking distance, or a short ride of only a few miles. It is a great place to live.
Culturally, The Georgetown Community Center offers an opportunity for area residents to mingle and share ideas. It also has a tennis court.
Unemployment does not seem to be an issue in this area. And it appears that anyone who wants to work can definitely find an employment opportunity.
What is needed most in my community is greater visibility of signs that protect our children from speeding traffic. More signs with a lowered speed limit, signs notifying drivers that children are in the area, and the installation of more speed bumps would go a long way in promoting safety for our children. Additionally, I hope that our district will be treated fairly in the redistricting process.
