There is a large African American and Latino community in Camden. Historic cemeteries (Walt Whitman) and food culture are also central to Camden.

The business district along the Haddon Ave corridor hosts restaurants, drug stores, and clothing shops. It is bordered all around by many highways, and nearby plants cause pollution. Dangerous run down housing is a large problem.
