Your response: People in Toombs County primarily gather for activities associated with church activities and sports activities. There are numerous churches in the Vidalia and Lyons communities.Walmart is the "local" shopping mall in this area for persons coming from surrounding smaller counties. These next largest communities are approximately 40-45 miles away (Dublin to the west and Statesboro to the east).

Your response: Some of the larger employers in the Toombs County area includes the Southern Nuclear - Hatch Nuclear Plant (in Baxley-Appling County), Chicken of the Sea, Trane, Tumi, Savannah Luggage in Toombs County).

Your response: I think there is a need for more diverse industry in this community for those who do not have education beyond high school. Additional shopping and restaurant options would also be helpful to this area.Our Board of Elections office should provide for extended operating hours when approaching deadlines for voter registrations and ballots from voters who choose to deliver them in person. For persons who don't get get off work until 5 pm, they would never get a change to turn in their information because the Board of Elections office is closed by the time they get there.
