Your response: My community of LatinX residents are located in East Flat Rock, Edneyville and Mills River. Community directors at El Centro, a community advocacy group in Hendersonville NC have identified a minimum of 12,000 Hispanic residents in the area. Many work in agriculture and construction; some are undocumented, but many are legal residents and citizens who vote. These groups should be represented fairly and should not be split from each other. The Hispanic population is significant in Henderson County and represent hard working, skilled residents who deserve fair representation and a repeal of 287(g).

Your response: The farming community in Henderson County, NC require assistance with healthcare, affordable housing, voting rights (many are afraid to vote, especially first time voters who are legal citizens). Some are victims of crime, including sexual assault, but fear reporting those crimes because of the current climate of anti-immigrant discrimination.
