My community is a historically Black neighborhood, and home to many of the early leaders of the Civil Rights Movement.
This community is a food desert, and needs better accessibility to groceries and other household needs. There is a lot of rich history here that we should preserve by not gentrifying the area and keeping housing affordable so residents are not pushed out. While better food accessibility is needed, this is a community that does not need big box stores. Rather, some kind of systems in place to help support many of the entrepreneurial small businesses to thrive.
