The large Latino communities that make up District 22, and the communities surrounding my town, are what make Green Brook an attractive place for Latinos.

Towns in District 22 (which have a large Latino population) that are around Green Brook tend to have lower quality schools. This is especially visible at the high school level. In this context, Green Brook students join the wealthy students at Watchung Hills Regional High School. Whereas North Plainfield students remain in North Plainfield. Situations like this one perpetuate cycles of poverty and inequality. Fair maps are essential to the process of creating equality for Latinos in NJ.
