The 105th Assembly District is a mixture of farm and suburban living. The southern tier of the district is high rate of commuters who work in Westchester or NYC. The northern tier of the district has high unemployment, no industry in the area and low minimum wage jobs. Many of the family farms in this area are struggling, to offset this burden they are selling off property or selling the farm and leaving the area. Several farms have applied to and growing hemp to help with overhead costs. Most of the jobs in the area are retail, warehouse, or manual labor at minimum wage.
