Your response: Considering that Lawrence is a minority -majority city, the bonds are strong between all Spanish speaking residents. However, the Mount Vernon area is clearly segregated, in a way, with the white majority presence there. The Bread and Roses strike of the generations before. For the current generation, the Columbia Gas incident stands out as a shared history.

Your response: The water quality. Although it has gotten somewhat better by cleaning up the rivers, more can be done. Rent control needs to be implemented in order to attract more people to the area and retain them. By doing so, people will have more disposable income to contribute within the local economy and work more.
