Growing Muslim community, politically more diverse, flexible and open-minded than other areas of the county. Our history includes Butlerville. Danish road was part of the route the Mormon Pioneers used to haul granite for the Salt Lake Temple.

Tourism, especially the ski industry affects residents here. We are very interested in preserving our canyons, developing walkable and bikable routes in the area, and keeping this area beautiful and peaceful for those who live here--- not just following the dollars.

My area has offered greater support to moderate Democratic candidates over the 30 years I've lived here. We aren't pleased with the way the 2010 redistricting process separated us from other areas in the county with similar concerns. MODERATE candidates are SORELY NEEDED to bring ideas forth that the greater proportion of Salt Lake County can get behind. I never thought I'd be campaigning and donating to candidates living 10 minutes away, who I cannot vote for because of these boundaries. The Southeast of Salt Lake County in becoming increasingly diverse. Urban SL County should not be divided between 4 districts that include areas very different from those of urban and suburban SL Co.
