Community Information

renewable resources healthcare voting rights elderly environment

My community is made up of people I have basically known all my life. We have a shared history of going to church together, working together, hunting, fishing, and doing a lot of gardening. Many of us are seniors and our greatest concern is that of healthcare and emergency services (should we need them). Hospitals are far away and we care about that as we hope that soon there will be an urgent care facility in our area. As for shopping and social opportunities, we have none. A small grocery store with fresh foods would be wonderful.

My community has existed for many years. I can remember my widowed dad trying to keep his of 6 children together on a meager sharecroppers stipend. The church has always been and always will be what we all have in common. We all share a love and faith in God and that makes our community mighty special. Historically, we are a community of farmers who branched out to other industries when the opportunity came along. In short, you can say that we have shared values and we do not want legislators to tear our community apart in the redistricting process

Many of us love to fish and have enjoyed many years of fishing on the Ogeechee River. However, because of a fabrics fabrication plant that has polluted the water, we no longer can enjoy our treasured past time. We need leaders who will take care of both our land and our wares! When they do that, they will be doing the job that we voted for them to do.

We want to be kept together in our same district!
