Community Information

suburban

Nutley is a diverse but tight-knit community. Around 65% of Nutley residents are homeowners, and those who live in this community tend to pick candidates from both parties. Nutley likes its politics competitive.

Currently, Nutley is in the 28th district, but I believe this is a disservice to us. Half of the district is suburban and the other half lies in the inner-city. There’s an unwritten rule between the two Assembly people that one will cater to the needs of the suburbs, & the other will cater to the needs of the inner city. Nutley used to be in the 36th district - a better fit as Southern Berg and Southern Passaic were more homogenous groups. They also have common issues and interests. If we couldn’t fit in a district with these two areas, Route 3 and the Route 46 Corridor have other COIs that would fit well with Nutley. These include Clifton (we share a border), Hudson county, and Secaucus.
