Community Information

transportation housing diversity suburban affordable

My community comprises families with young children and middle-aged and elderly that have lived in the neighborhood for decades. We have a small shopping center, box retail, two multiplex movie theaters, an elementary school, a public park, and designated open spaces. We are near a major regional hospital, St. Anthony's, and have various medical specialists within a short distance. We have an office park. We are close to the Federal Center, where many people in the neighborhood work. We have numerous restaurants and grocery stores. We are close to public transportation, both bus, and light rail. We have a public library.

The neighborhood is dominantly white, with few Latinx and African Americans. We are on the edge of a historic Jewish Cemetary. We have young families and many middle-aged and elderly families. English is the dominant language. Most of the homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s. We have some historic homes.

My community has a great deal of shopping, restaurants, medical and business offices. We are on a major US Highway. We have designated public open space, which is a priority for the area.

The community has a lack of ethnic and racial diversity. It has an aging population that increasingly cannot afford to age in place. We have a lack of rental options. Housing is costly. We have few eldercare services, particularly transportation. The current district boundaries are fine. We have a good relationship with our representatives. The once conservative area is increasingly centrist to liberal.
