*This map was created in a community mapping exercise conducted by the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund.* This Asian community is primarily South Asian (mostly Indian) with some East Asians (Chinese), and grew around Parsippany, NJ. It also encompasses the South Asian populations that settled in towns like Hanover, Livingston, and Millburn for the excellent school districts and the proximity to Parsippany.
This primarily South Asian community is anchored around houses of worship and ethnic restaurants and grocery stores, particularly those owned by community members. 280 and 287 bracket the community as members use them to get to Parsippany and also to commute to jobs in cities like Newark and NYC.
