The community that I have outlined, represents a great deal of recreational activities around the North Central Mountain Preserve and abutting resorts. The community has many varied houses of worship, and a high number of public schools.
This community has the historic Sunnyslope neighborhood and the central corridor known for it's Central Avenue Bridal path is where many of the neighbors meet on a walk, bike ride or run across the area. The North Mountain Visitor Center attracts visitors from the neighborhood, as well as visitors staying at the two mountain resorts within the limits of the community.
Recent shared history has included the community coming together to consider a water infrastructure renovation that would put an underground pipeline through the community in the Piestewa Peak area. The community came together to coordinate the plan and lobby the city council for the common shared goal.
The community needs to stay within the boundaries that provide the access to the social services provided in the Sunnyslope area, the south-most point should stay together so that the Jewish community can walk to and from their Synagogues. To the north, the Paradise Valley corridor needs to stay together because of the P.V. mall and adjoining shopping corridor.
